Those were the last two stops of my trip, first I went to Bloemfontein ('the city of roses'), where I arrived pretty late and tired and left directly the day after, but during the night so i had a day only to discover the city. The backpacker (the naval hills backpacker after all) was kind of the worst I stayed in, the owner was nowhere near friendly and was trying to sell the thing anyways, and the lady who explained me the way in the tourist info even tried me to persuade me to try something else (maybe I should have listened... :)). So I decided not to leave my stuff there during the next day, but went off with my whole luggage to discover the city (a good 9 hours with a 2 backpacks and few breaks), I'll add some fotos of the backpackers *g*. the day of my arrival I just went to get some food and then to my lonely dorm since there was no company but the owner and his son who slept in the tv room a guy i only met the other day and some seasonal workers who stayed in their own dorm not looking for company ^^. When I tried to get some of my stuff out of the safe the day after it wa an adventure of its own to get the owner awake, but then I had a nice day in bloemfontein; the weather was really lovely and reminded me of a good european spring and the city was quite nice also, I discovered some rose-park (surprise surprise), a waterfront (well... they have a lake *g*) a zoo and the city itself which had quite some charming buildings. In the evening I then went to the station to wait for my bus leaving at 23:40 giving me a good 5 hour wait after nightfall (luckily I bought a new book), after which I had an overnight trip to east london.
The trip to east london as okay, though I was oince again pretty exhausted, after the long and weary day in bloemfontein and only a few uncomfortable hours of sleep in the bus, which arrived at 7 am in east london. Not to check in terribly early i decided to walk up the street the bus halted on instead of down, where the backpackers would have lain directly; showing me a nice beach boulevard, which is aboiut everything the city has thoug. i spent my 2 days in east london mostly chilling and reading, strolling up the esplanade once or twice and once to the city center which had nothing really nice to offer though (except the post office i was heading for). The beaches were nice though, and the people in the backpackers as well, the first evening I went out with some guys to a club next door, but I had to return home quite early, after the first tequila damaged my exhausted body into a pretty early state of tiredness (11 pm or something :(), the second evening was nice as well, one of the guys in the backpackers who was building drums there was giving some drumming workshop in a club up the road, which ended ina nice, relaxed evening with a lot of music, some of which came from an accordeon (interesting what some germans need so far from home...), which then now really was not my music, but a very interesting event :) On that evening I was a little bit fitter wanting to go to some club afterwards, but sadly i remained the only one after everyone else went to bed directly after the drumming session, leaving me no choice as to sleep early. The next day I had a little time before my final bus headed for home arrived and i decided to visit the local aquarium which really was not worth it, no service and scarcely any fisch ... well at least it was cheap and they had penguins :D... and I learned that the killerwhale really is just a big dolphin. After that I went home on a bus that managed to build up a healthy one hour delay and luckily my colleague had managed to mess up the handy of which she gave me the number (her sons apparently and it went off a few days prior my return), but lucky for me she was patient and nearly waiterd long enough until my bis arrived and saw the coach on her way home and decided to return to the station :) ah well and yesterday at half past eleven (pm) I arrived back home *g*
