So there we are again, amazingly and unexpectedly I'm going on another holiday before I leave. This will maybe be the most chaotic trip I've done so far, but it is kind of hard to plan ahead in Namibia. Just to give you an impression, I've been considering Namibia for a month now, mostly because all my colleagues told me how beautiful a country it is. So when i tried to loot out possibilities to cross the border, I kind of ended up only being able to go by Intercape, the most costy mainliner bus in South Africa. That would have been beyond my (guessed) budget. Renting a car was close to costing about the same, and a flight was REALLY expensive. So i kind of didn't know what to do, until I had the clever idea to find backpackers in Namibia and asking them how to get there. So I found another coach Company. Sadly those guys gave me a wrong spelling, enabling me to trace them, but not finding any possibility to reach them, until 3 days ago I found a Page where they had there name spelt right and wrong (Econolux is the wrong spelling, they are called
Ekonolux) and so finally finding an affordable connection, and today I even reached a travel agency in South africa selling their tickets *g*. So when I asked them for a trip from tomorrow 15:30 from Capetown this girl found out that there were like 2 (!)places left on my coach, and I needed to get money on their bank account and fax them the confirmation before they could contact the office in Namibia to relay my query. So like 2 hours later when all that was done I had that girl from the agency on skype and she even did me the favour to get me a confirmation on my ticket today (instead of early tomorrow), So that I could book my connection to Capetown at half past four *g* And hey, I even have an accommodation for one night in Windhoek, after spending the next two nights in busses (rawr I'm gonna smell of festival *g*) - tonight at 00:10 my first coach leaves for Capetown where I will arrive at 8 am, and then at 15:30 the next coach will head for windhoek, a short 21 hours ride (and I'm facing the same on my way back), arriving on Saturday noon in Windhoek *g* Ah well, it'll be fun :) I'll be back in Knysna between the 26th and the 27th, so if you don't hear anything inbetween don't worry :)
